I'm a Bloggin' Fool...
In these days, I'm doing a great job with the blog up-keep! Wonder how long it'll last?
Here are my thoughts for the day...based on yet one more instance of total misunderstanding that occurred tonite while out with my brother... So, as most of you know, this has not exactly been my week in regards to interpersonal relationships. No, this week has been filled with conflict & misunderstanding, and it is quite sad. I can't figure out what is happening, but if I knew more about astrology, I would say my planets are clearly out of alignment (or some gibberish like that...). What am I yapping about you ask? Well, tonite after work, I did a little shopping and then called my brother's girlfriend to see if she wanted to go eat dinner with me and visit Adam at Friday's. It was 10pm and she was already going to bed, so next I called Melanie (aka "No Home") to see if she'd like to join me...she said she'd love to, and so off we went. I, of course ordered the Jack Daniel's chicken, and it was heaven on earth, exactly as I'd remembered it. She had an Ultimate Mudslide that proved to be too much for her. Things proceeded nicely and several of Adam's buddies (including this one--well, the *real* one of him anyways...) came and sat and chatted with us, then asked if we wanted to go over to Eat'nPark with them after they closed. Cut to a few hours later. We are all sitting in Eat'nPark when a few young people come in...and one looks kinda familiar, but I'm not 100% sure...either way, I can tell he's weird. A few more minutes pass and I noticed that my brother has this ugly burn scar on his arm that I've never seen before, so I asked him about it. He started to tell me about how he and this kid Nate O. use to see how long they could hold cigarettes to their skin when the kid who'd come in asks over the back of the booth, "Who's talking about Nate O.?" (now, you should know, Nate O. passed away in a motorcycle accident about a year ago...he was a party buddy of Adam's and a guy me & Lic use to prank call in the 9th grade...but we also did his chemistry homework for him, so it all balanced out) and we're like, "uh, we were talking about him...we knew him." And then the kid's like, "Who are you?" and I'm like, "Um, Are you Dennis? I'm Teresa--I think we went to Chartiers together." So now he turns around and is like, "Oh, how're you doing?" And I say, "Good, how about yourself?" and he says, "I'm alive." To which I reply, "Yeah, but Nate, I heard he's...well, Nate's *not* alive...that's soo crazy!!" So I was just trying to comment on how bizarre the whole reality of it is, and somehow, this totally set this kid off!! He starts getting all nuts and is like, "Yeah man, he was my best friend!! We use to hang out EVERY DAY!!! He was at my house the night before it happened!!!" So I, seeing how upset he now is, and remembering that he's a bit disturbed, tried to wrap up the subject, but it wasn't that easy. Now, the kid's pissed at me & Adam for bringing up Nate's name...and there's no way to avoid his rage. He starts saying to the girl in the booth with him, "June 27th--that's when it happened--almost ONE YEAR AGO!! YEAH, THANKS FOR BRINGING IT UP & GETTING ME TALKING ABOUT IT!!" (that last part clearly directed at Adam & myself). Everyone else felt pretty uncomfortable, plus we'd already gotten our check, so we just decided to leave. The kid was still making comments as we walked away. RIDICULOUS!!! First of all, how we were supposed to know this kid had been "best friends" with Nate??? (Adam actually hung out with Nate quite a bit and from what he says, he never saw this Dennis kid around). Secondly, even if they were tight, why in the world would Adam & I have thought Dennis was *listening* to our conversation and/or would even be upset by it upon hearing it?? All Adam was telling me about was how they use to get high and see how long they could stand the burn from their cigarattes--dumb, yes I know, but nothing that should have a) been a trigger for Dennis, or b) even have been *heard* by Dennis! What the heck???!!!!!
I'm just not going to leave my house or talk to anyone for a week...
