Happy Birthday, Brother!!!

(No, not *this* brother...)

Today was Adam's 24th birthday! We celebrated by going to Benihana's and eating delicious seafood and having pretty decent drinks...though I cannot say sake has won me over yet...nope, not at all. I got sushi (veg of course...no actual raw fish for me!) and calamari, and some drink called a Tokyo Peach...mmm!

Today had some ups & downs, but overall, ended well. It was a bit of a downer right off the bat since today was "Father's Day", and my family doesn't have much to celebrate as far as that goes...so we all just focused on the part about it being Adam's birthday instead. It also wasn't so great waking up to a 'visitor' that decided to come a whole week early--ugh! Then, I went to work, where we *finally* not only made plan, but we went *over* plan! So, that was a positive that hopefully that means more hrs. this week. Next was our dinner--and that was fabulous--except for the part about me falling under some kinda spell while our chef twirled & banged his utensils around....which caused me to slip into some daydream about BRad...which then caused me to start fixating on the fact that I haven't heard one word from him since our "break-up" (if you can even call it that?). But then, the nicest thing happened! I decided to randomly get my phone out of my bag, and lo & behold I had a text message! And, of course, it was from him. This made me happy & sad at the exact same time... Immediately it made me happy cause I realized that he actually does care and isn't just blowing me off...but then it turned sad when I thought "hmm, it sucks that he really does care, and yet, we couldn't make it work". I had to excuse myself to the restroom where my eyes actually started to tear up...which I quickly thwarted by taking notice of this little girl's adorable pink asian-style flip flops...haha. Yeah, she was like, 3 or 4 and really cute, so I told her I liked her shoes and she was like, "THAAANK YOU!" and that made me smile.

I will now close with a humorous find... As always, it is from a note (which for whatever reason, my family is famous for ---> "Mom, wake me up so I can take Jeff hom") left by my mother this time to...I guess our entire family? It sat on the kitchen counter from the other nite and read as follows:

"Teresa's working. I went to the Nite Lite. The bean says LOVE."

(And to make this even better still, the word "bean" was underlined...twice! HAHAHA!)

i've shead my fair share of tears on this subject, as well. it is very tough, but when it all boils down to it you still have a friend and you know it wasn't all in vain. i know you probably know all of this but i thought i'd let you know i've shared your pain.
